About

Artist Gill Cameron has been documenting life in her sketchbook as a need since memory serves. A Scottish native, Gill moved to Bondi, Australia not long after completing her degree at The Scottish College of Textiles and established a career in design.

Gill's connection with Bondi's eclectic melting pot was immediate and the love for her adopted community is cleverly encapsulated in her subject matter and mastered skill of Liquid Acrylics. Life by the ocean has been an immersive experience which translates well into a medium that requires patience and a deliberate guiding hand between the chaos and control. Gill always saw her art through a watercolour lens and after working with inks in her design career, sourced an enduring product that allowed taking the traditional watercolourist ideal and injecting it with vivid colour, intense luminosity and a clean finish.

As well as original artworks, painted in Liquid Acrylic, Gill offers her work as prints, murals and custom illustrations. Gill was a finalist in the WWAS 9x5 landscape prize 2021, the ‘Inside this box’ exhibition 2022 and has a permanent mural in Paddington as part the Perry Lane Art project.
